Throwback Thursday – Life Lessons Edition: For Christmas of 1986, my dad bought me a Haro FSX for $269.99. It was all I want that Christmas and nothing else. I begged and begged all year, finally got it! All winter I would ride it around my basement ’cause it was snowing and too cold. Finally the spring came and I was ready to showoff to my friends who had mongoosebikes gtbikes dynobikes The summer of ’87 was crazy! Riding around in bmxcrews and going to the bike tracks to do jumps! That was also the summer I learned that you have to protect your belongings. I rode my bike to the only corner store that had a @streetfightergame arcade cabinet, a good 3-4 miles away. My dad always told me to lock my bike up wherever I went but, I thought riding around with a chain wasn’t cool. “Who’s going to steal my bike, every already has one, right???” I parked my bike outside so I could keep an πŸ‘€on it while I was playing, I was good. I want there 10 mins and somebody got me! I was sick! I had to walk all the way home from merrickroad in freeport! I was walking in that heat 😰😑 so mad! Luckily @fostergrant_24 was coming home from work ( I remember he worked at Genovese’s )and saw me walking. I got home and my dad asked me where my bike was…I had to tell him what happened. He was 😑😑😑! He asked me, what’s more important, looking cool or being responsible? After that talk, I started to look at life with a different set of eyes. thanksdad @harobmx tbt harofsx brandscycleandfitness
